From a pilot in Poland to expansion in Romania

4 September 2026

A well-structured collaboration between a startup and a large organisation can grow into a long-term partnership — and create opportunities to scale across new markets. That is exactly what Uniperks, Orange Flex and Orange Fab have achieved together. Following a successful pilot in Poland, the partnership is now preparing for its next chapter: expansion into Romania.

The story began not with technology, but with a clearly defined business challenge. Orange Flex, a fully digital mobile offering designed with younger audiences in mind, wanted to create compelling offers for students. To make this happen, the team needed a solution that could address two needs at once:

  • reach students effectively;
  • verify student status quickly and reliably.

This is where Orange Fab comes in: connecting Orange business teams with startups whose solutions can address real business needs. For this challenge, the right match was Uniperks – a platform that gives brands access to a verified student community.

The partnership with Uniperks combined student-status verification with promotional activities designed to raise awareness of the Orange Flex offer among young users. Uniperks’ own media channels and audience reach also played an important role in improving campaign performance. The initiative resulted in more than 7,000 Orange Flex offer activations.

A pilot that became a partnership

The project did not end when the campaign was completed. Uniperks brought a flexible, ready-to-use solution; Orange Flex contributed a clear business perspective and openness to innovation; and Orange Fab helped build the foundations for launching and growing the partnership.

Today, Uniperks has a community of more than 400,000 verified students and works with over 140 partners. In the first half of 2026, the startup secured a total of PLN 4.2 million in funding to further develop its products and support its international expansion. Romania is the first market on this journey.

The collaboration model developed in Poland will now serve as a blueprint for the next stage. As Uniperks enters the Romanian market, the partners plan to build on the approach tested in Poland, this time in cooperation with Orange Romania.

This collaboration shows how addressing a specific business challenge with the right startup partner can generate local results – and lay the groundwork for growth across other Orange Group markets.
